José and Helen met while working at ATEC Ambulance in 2018. They were both EMTs. José was charting at a work station and Helen desperately needed to clock out and leave. So Helen tapped José on the shoulder and asked to use his computer for a moment. Little did Helen know what a joker José was and he said "sure, but only if you call me 'Big Papa'." Helen had no idea that he was just joking around and quoting a song by the Notorious B.I.G. But that was it for Helen! She soon messaged him on facebook and said "How is it going, Big Papa" to which Jose replied "What's up lil mama." Within 3 months of sending this message, Helen and José were sent to work down in Florida helping hurricane Michael Victims. This two week work trip would count as the longest 7th date in history. Since then, they have been inseparable. Helen went on to become a nurse and José became a police officer. They have a lovable cat named Jasper and a sweetheart dog named Simon that they adore. They just recently added a new furry family member: a sweet orange and white kitten named Philip! They love the life they created for themselves over in Chicago.
